FAQs

Who do you work with?

I work with individuals from age 18 years up. I may be able to offer am online service to you if you live abroad, country dependent (contact me for more information).

What are your qualifications and how do you work?

I am a Clinical Psychologist with many years of experience working in my own private practice and in the NHS with adults experiencing emotional, psychological and chronic physical health problems. You can find out more about working with me here and my qualifications here.

What do I need to work with you online?

You will need a comfortable space, without interruption, and a good internet connection (with a download speed of at least 2mbps). Check your internet speed here: https://www.speedtest.net/

I use Zoom for video calls. You do not need to have a Zoom account to connect with me in this way. I will send you a link by email 15 minutes before your session is due to start. At the time of your session you simply click the link to access the session.

How do I book a session?

Use the contact form on the home page to arrange a no-obligation and free 15-minute telephone call. I will reply by email, please check your spam folder for my reply. You can also telephone me, but please be prepared to leave a message so I can call you back.

What are your fees?

Self-funded therapy sessions vary from £85.00 to £110.00 per 50-minute session. Fees are agreed before treatment starts. If your treatment is funded by an insurance company or other third part organisation, charges will be higher due to additional administration, supplementary reports, etc. Sessions are either invoiced in advance of each session using PayPal invoicing (you do not need a PayPal account to pay by this method); or, invoiced at the end of the month by arrangement. I am registered with most of the main insurance companies, so it is worth checking your policy if you have one to see if mental health is covered (an excess may apply and it is your responsibility to settle this portion of the fee).

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on your reason for seeking support, but also on how much time you are able to invest in your therapy. At the end of your initial session, we will discuss options for moving forward and I will make recommendations as to the number of sessions I think you would benefit from.

What if I need to cancel my session?

You can reschedule sessions by email to jess@lyfematters.co.uk, I ask that you give at least 24 hours notice. You can find out more about booking and your consumer rights in my Service Terms and Conditions here.

How do you protect my personal information?

I take the protection of your personal and sensitive information very seriously. I have taken additional training in working online, a significant component of which involved data protection. You can read more about the practical steps I take in my Privacy Policy here.
